- Application: Department of Post has provisioned current applications (MGNREGS, Electronic Money Order) and Future applications (Mail Operations, Postal Banking Solution, Postal Insurance Solution, Third Party Application) that are deployed at Central Server.
- Hardware: The Rural ICT Devices that comprises of Main Computing Device (with integrated GPS, digital camera, thermal printer, smart card/magnetic stripe reader and writer, biometric fingerprint scanner), Solar Panel& UPS, 2D Imager, Pin Pad, Micro SD Card, Charging Cradle, USB Flash drive, carrying case are connected to provisioned application at Central Server through Mobile Network.
- Supply of Rural ICT Hardware in 130,000 EDOs
- Supply & Installation of solar solution in approx. 97500 EDOs
- Connectivity in 22 Circles covering 37 Regions and approx. 130,000 EDOs
- 2 Service Centres in each region i.e. total 74 Service centers
- Level 2 Helpdesk Support
- Maintenance for 5 years
TCIL is executing a Rural Hardware project called DARPAN - "Digital Advancement of Rural Post Office for A New India" with Ricoh India Limited for Department of Posts, Government of India. The project is a part of the larger IT modernization project being undertaken by the Department of Posts. The total value of the projects is approx. INR 1361 Cr. and involves supply of Rural ICT Hardware for approx. 1,30,000 Post Offices comprising of Main Computing Devices, Hand Held Scanner and Solar Solution (Supply and Installation) along with setting up of L2 Helpdesk, Service Centers, Training and provisioning of 2G/ 3G connectivity through different Network Service Providers (NSP) under implementation phase (13 Months) and subsequent maintenance for 5 years.
